Portofino Bay Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at the Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando. The best asset was the front of the line pass at the Universal Theme Parks. I am quite a Disney fan but Universal has one upped them with this perk. If I had to search for a complaint it would be the rooms are starting to show some wear. The staff was premiere. We ate at Tschoup Chop at the Royal Pacific and it was great. Palms at Hard Rock was excellent but their portions were TOO BIG... The waitress was very very good. I usually whine about the small things and my wife and I are fortunate to travel a great deal. I'm picky and couldn't find much to pick on there!! I could go on and on and believe me I would if I was not 150% satisfied. I WAS. Please feel free to ask away if you have any q's!

I liked the hotel as well. The bathrooms were nice and big and I thought the grounds were splendid. I do wish that they would provide a dog or cat for you though as I miss my animals so much! I guess not putting animals in your room is my only complaint LOL!

The other two hotels at Universal allow pets. Next time try the Hard Rock Hotel or the Royal Pacific Resort and bring your pet!

I think pets can stay at Portofino...they have room service menu for pets and we saw quite a few well behaved dogs. Muffin (my wife) wants to "rent-a-pet" as our pets would go bonkers if we took them! We are from New Hampshire so driving isn't an option and the 3 hour flight wouldn't be pretty!

I have stayed at Portofino Bay a couple of times and have always had a nice experience there. The location is wonderful. When I made a trip to Italy, I had to include the real Portofino and it looked just liked its Orlando counterpart. Except the prices in Italy were outrageous but I'm glad to have seen the real thing. Happy travels.

Ciao,
Rene
