Portand, Me/weekend

Husband and I will be in Portland Me. in September on a Sat. and part of Sunday..Looking for decent accomodations at reasonable price.. Anyone know anything about the Best Western Merry Manor? Would like to keep it down to under $125 s night if possible. How far out of the main stream is it? What is traffic/parking like on the weekend? Any other suggestions?
Thanks

I believe that is an older property in a somewhat out of the way location. Not near Old Town. Have you tried the Fairfield Inn by the airport. Its very basic but clean and about a 10 minute drive to Old Town. I have never had a problem with parking in Portland on weekends or weekdays. We pay to park in a lot but find them to be very reasonable - but we are used to Boston prices for parking.

I'd check the rates at Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn by the Bay first..but if you book this early you probably won't find many special offers listed. Check back in August and maybe the rates will have fluctuated.

The airport-area hotels should fit the bill. It is an easy 10-minute drive into town from there. Parking will not be a problem.

Check out the Holiday in by the Bay. It is a reasonably priced 3* quality hotel in a good location. It is an easy walk to the Old Port section and many good restaurants. Try a sunset harbor cruise while you are there.
