Polo Grounds & Yankee Stadium in NYC

The Polo Grounds where the former NY Giants basebal team played was in upper Manhatten. What was the approximate location and what is there now??? I have a friend who said he grew up in that neighborhood and could walk to the Polo Grounds and then across the river to Yankee Stadium.

Hi Michael...there's housing project where the Polo Grounds once stood...it's on West 155th Street overlooking the Harlem River Drive...this is the Washington Heights section of Manhattan...if you want to know how to get there or what else is around there post back.

The Polo Grounds and Yankee Stadium were just across the Harlem River from one another.

I've seen some great old photographs of the two stadiums together.

As the previous post said, there is housing project on the site.

Polo Grounds was located on 155th Street in Manhattan. It was about a 10 minute walk to the Stadium from the Polo Grounds. A large housing project occupies the site.
