John:

Please tell me a little more about the new Syracuse Mall. Gov. Pataki just announced that he is in favor of the fast ferry that will be starting in the Rochester Harbor and going to Toranto. It will be approx. 3 hour ride. Either you drive your car on it or just take it to either place.

If a new mall is going up in Syracuse than there will be more reason for the Canadians to come to New York State.

We are starting to build up our water front now. A new terminal will be built and boutiques and resturants will be going up all over. I think a new mall will help everyone out.

We boat through the canal every year and go right through Syracuse-well, Baldinsville (sp)- What lock number will be the closest to the new mall?

I live in NYC. Recently read how bad things still are in some touristy areas, specifically restaurants in CHinatown and Little Italy. I thought it by my civic duty to go down there to eat. I tried on 2 occasions. It was mobbed. Couldn't find a place to eat without a huge wait. I was glad to see that but not glad to wait so I returned to my neighborhood (Greenwich VIllage) and ate locally. We also recently went skiing in the Adorondacks (Gore Mtn). It's lovely up there. So peaceful. I hope the rest of NY state is picking up like little italy and chinatown. It's a great state!

Carol: The proposed mega-mall in Syracuse will be between locks 23 & 24 on the Erie Canal, at the southern tip of Onondaga Lake. The lakefront development is well underway (new walls and walkways, ampitheatre, walking trails, etc.) but the mall expanded mall is still a "vision".

I know this thread is old, but i am looking for specific suggestions for resorts at lake george. I think the sagamore is a little too nice for what I am looking for (including a 3 year old), but I do want something a bit upscale. TJ if you are out there any suggestions.

You should not visit NY without a trip to one of the most beautiful regions in the country- I'm talking about the 1000 Islands on the beautiful St. Lawrence River.

NYC is one great city! I have a travelogue about it posted at http://www.indospectrum.com/travels/nyc.html and one about Niagara falls over at the other end of the state at http://www.indospectrum.com/travels/niagara.html. Take a look at them to see if you find it interesting.
