We always try to stay at the Renaissance BH - comfortable rooms, good location, nice people. Not all that close to Santa Monica (20+ min.) but a very pleasant property. One useful thing is that there's a fairly upscale shopping center (Starbucks, supermarket, drug store, etc.) across the street, handy for replacing lost razors, getting cheaper soft drinks than room service, etc.

John,

Mind if I ask a few more questions since you stayed there? Is it within walking distance to Rodeo Drive? Is the Hotel still in a nice part of Beverly Hills? Is parking a problem? Do all the rooms have balconies?

thanks....

Walkable to Rodeo if you love long walks I suppose, but I'd say no; actually not in the City of BH but in a nice part of the city of LA just up Wilshire Blvd. from BH (maybe 3 or 4 miles tops); The hotel has valet parking and a big lot; I imagine street parking is possible but there may be a resident sticker thing; yes, I do think the rooms all have balconies.

John,

Thanks for the info...leaning towards staying there a few nights and a few nights in Santa Monica. Have you seen the Le Merigot by chance? Are there any other LA hotels you would recommend I look into?

thanks again....

Need to correct for my crummy geography - the hotel is on Pico, due south of the Rodeo/Wilshire area by around 2-3 miles.

No, haven't been to Le Merigot but have heard nice things about it.
