Please Help!!! Advice about the Florida Keys
Please Help! I need advice about the Florida Keys. I am thinking about arranging a trip for my husband and me to the Florida Keys. Suggestions on where to stay or go would be most appreciated. I want a place where we can relax. Maybe enjoy a drink at the pool, go snorkeling, sit in the evenings by the ocean listening to live music drinking another drink or two. Want to be able to get around without a car. I want a tropical trip with maybe a Caribbean flair without actually going to the Caribbean.

Stay anywhere within "Oldtown" and you'll be close enough to nearly everything by foot. Mopeds and bikes can be rented at reasonable rates everywhere. It is definitely THE way to have a Caribbean type expeirience without leaving the States. I use "Restless Native" for a snorkeling trip and can recommend them highly - a bit pricier than the big commercial charters but a MUCH better experience. Don't have their phone number but they're in the Key West Bight and do have a listed phone. We went July 4 weekend and stayed at Jasmine House on Center Street. Very proivate, cozy and moderately priced but no courtyard/pool/jacuzzi or hangout place - strictly a place to sleep. She does include a pass to use the pool and club facilities at Marriot's resort (several blocks away) if you're interested. There are only 3 rooms - get the suite - has a kitchen/sitting room area and separate bedroom. If you're staying for more than 2 days, the kitchen is nice to have. Jasmine House is at 888-691-0908. There is a very good selection of hotels and guesthouses listed at http://www.keywestparadise.com
Have fun and relax - it's the best thing about KW!

Fly into Key West, stay at any major hotel (Sheraton, Hilton, etc.). All hotels have island shuttle. Some have more kids around pools. Very hot in summer months, most establishments (bars, stores, resturants, etc.) do not have air. Rent mopeds if you want to get off island and away from other tourists. Enjoy.

Ahhhhh. The Florida Keys. Best place? Little Palm Island off of Little Torch Key. Like being in Tahiti. Little 5 acre island with no cars, T.V.s, Telephones. One of the best restaurants in Florida.
Do a web search for this place and see all of the magazine write-ups about this. Click here for their website. http://www.littlepalmisland.com/

I know that this is not politically correct but... Great place to see, great sunsets, but if you don't enjoy the alternative lifestyles being flaunted everywhere find another place to go. You can most likely go to a real carribean desitination for almost the same price or less if you search around for the deals.
