Some great restaurant choices on Kauai. On day three you spend virtually your whole day on the north part of the island and then you return to the south in time for a sunset? dinner at the Beach House. You may be caught up in the commute traffic around that time going through Lihue from the north shore. You might want to stay in Hanalei for dinner. Substitute the Beach House for Pomodoros on day 2 but I do like the idea of teh Beach House for your final dinner, ahhhh the choices.. Tidepools is really great for atmosphere. When you make reservations see if you can get one of the tables that jut out on a platform over the pond. Very romantic.

On Maui, you take the Molokini tour from Maalaea harbor? Return to Wailea and then go back past Maalaea to Lahiana for the luau. Maybe that's too much driving back and forth but only you can decide that. Maybe slpit up those activites into 2 separate days.

It sounds like a great trip.

I've only been to Maui, so my suggestions are only for that portion of the trip.

On day one, I'd change your restaurant to something in Wailea or close...after traveling all day you might not want to make the 20-30 minute drive to Mama's that night. Perhaps you could do Mama's after the Road to Hana on day 8? It's "on the way" back if you don't drive all the way around.

Other than that, I just want to recommend David Paul's in Lahaina for one of your TBD restaurants. GREAT food and service. It's not ocean side, but it's only a block off of the main street there.

Have fun!

Mama's is virtually on the way back no matter which way you return from Hana. However, you'll be hard pressed to do Hana, the Road and attractions and get back to Mama's in time for sunset, which is when you should do it.

Sara, last week we did the 2 mile hike on the Kalalau Trail and also had dinner reservations at the Beach House.
If you decide to do this all in one day make sure you start out early. We didn't leave our resort until 9 am. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to drive from Poipu to Ke'e. The trail was very slippery so it took us longer to hike than we had planned.

It was alot of fun but I felt kind of rushed on the way back to Poipu. We did make our 6 pm reservation though.
