I have what may be a dumb question. I want
to rent a car for a day soon when I go to
Pittsburgh. Does anyone know if there are any car rentalservices that will deliver the
car and pick it up at ones hotel? i cant

Pittsburgh is probably the all time easiest place to rent a car at the airport. So, if you aren't arriving at the airport, how are you getting to your hotel? The traffic is minimal and the rental places for cars are just across the street from the bagggage claim. I guess the answer must be Enterprise which says it will pick you up, but where????

try Enterprise..the deliver and pick-up...1-800-325-8007....maybe a cab would do you if you don`t have too much running around to do..traffic really isn`t that bad most of the time ..where are you going to?..maybe can advise you on traffic situation..and whether a car is needed..can get a cab or limo from airport..or bus to downtown..depends where your going..

I give Enterprise a "thumbs up".
Enterprise usually has their offices located within a mile or 2 from the airports. Keeps the overhead down so the prices are a bit cheaper, they say.
We rented from them the 3-4 times we've been to Pitt and we had to pick up our bags, call them and walk out to the pick up area.
They picked us up in their van and took us to the office approx 5 min drive away.
We also rented from them in Wash/DC and they dropped off the car at the Key Bridge Marriott, we signed the rental agreement in the lobby and off we went.
Left the car in the hotel pkg lot and gave the keys to the front desk. Pretty painless.
They hire a bunch of young, hard chargers. I usually rent from them here in Calif. for both business and personal and they have pick up and drop off as advirtised. I just have a problem with their office hours. A lot of the locations were closed on Sundays and some are opened only until 6:00pm. Check first.

I've had many problems with the Enterprise "pick-up and drop-off" policy. When I first tried it, I wasn't aware that Enterprise would only do it if they weren't too busy! I was also under the impression that they literally meant they would drop the car off for me. I didn't know it meant I would have to drive them back to the office, in a part of town I didn't know, through rush hour traffic. Silly me.

I've used them 3 times, because my stupid company won't listen to all of the complaints from me and my co-workers who have had problems. I used them once in Pittsburgh, once in the D.C. area, and once in the San Fran area. But I've heard similar stories about the same Pittsburgh location I used from 3 different co-workers.
I only use National for personal use, and have never had a problem (rented from them more than 15 times in the U.S. and overseas). And their rates are better than Enterprise.

To Jo,who started the original thread,~where are you and what did you decide??...there a different Enterprise and I`m sure other car rental places close to where your going...don`t be afraid to drive in Pittsburgh...I hate traffic and am not afraid to drive there..rush hour is slow in some areas due to constuction/and sometimes too many cars..let us know what you decided..I`m nosey...
