Pittsburgh

In the last week of November I will stay in Pittsburgh for one week.
Any suggestion, please, for good restaurants and good bar ?
Thanks in advance.

Which part of Pittsburgh? Here are some good locations, each with several choices of bars and restuarants:

Craig Street, in Oakland, between 5th and Forbes. (Where the University of Pittsburgh is). Great ethnic restuarants.

Walnut Street, in Shadyside. North and west of U. Pitt and Carnegie Mellon Univ.

Carson Street, in South Side. South side of the river, up on top of the mountain. Take the incline up from Station Square.

Station Square: an urban mall built in a grand old train station, south side of the river, at the bottom of the mountain.

We loved Falling Water which is a pleasant hours drive from Pittsburgh. Check it out at: http://www.paconserve.org/fw-building.asp

In downtown Pittsburgh we visited the Andy Warhol Museum.

Kaya restaurant on Smallman St. in the strip district. They also have a good weekday happy hour.

If you plan to be there on a Sunday, have brunch at The Grand Councourse at Station Square. It's in a beautiful old train station with stained glass windows. Fabulous brunch!

We enjoyed Six Penn (located on Sixth St and Penn Ave downtown). Great food, warm atmosphere, and not too expensive.

My favorite places to grab a beer are Church Brew Works and Fat Heads.

Enjoy your time in Pittsburgh, remember it will be chilllly!

Not far from Pittsburgh (aprox 20-30 min) is a neat italian restaurant and a bar. I believe the owners are from Abruzzi

Marios Family Italian Restaurant

926 Broadhead Rd
Coraopolis, PA 15108
Phone: (412) 262-3020

We loved Primanti Bros! Try to go to one of the restaurants at the top of the incline. We ate at a steakhouse (Coal Hill, I believe) and views were incredible at night. Food and service were also very good.

Abuzzi's on the Southside is good. There are many resturants on the southside. And many many bars this area is known for that.
