Piopu Beach- accommodation?

Can anyone suggest an accommodation on Piopu Beach. I want ground floor, at least 2 bedrooms, and ocean front but not on a cliff. I can't seem to find all this on the web! It's for this August.
I'd appreciate any referral 8-)

Libbie- the correct spelling is Poipu, which may be why nothing is coming up in your search!

You should try a search here too. Type Poipu AND condo in the search box

I found a condo on Poipu by going to www.vrbo.com where you can rent directly from the owners and pay less as there is typically no management agency taking part of the profit. I will be staying at Kuhio Shores which is right on the water, ceiling to floor windows, sea turtles that feed all around, small sandy beach just next door, no cliffs, and directly beside The Beachhouse Restaurant where my parents love to watch the sunset. After renting it I came across a good review in the Ultimate Kauai Guide.

They have one and two bedroom condos. They are owned by various individuals so you need to really look at the pictures on the webistes to determine if they have been recently remodeled.

I found some Kuhio Shores condos by doing a google search and found www.kuhioshores.net (has good aerial pics to help you visualize its location) and www.kuhioshores.com

The one I am staying in is only a 1 bdrm but if you want to look at it you can see it at www.mypoipubeach.com

Check out Grantham Resorts.... do a search for that, they have many different accommodations around Poipu regarding condos and a variety of price ranges.

Check out the Alihi Lani, which is just down from the Sheraton. We stayed in a two bedroom unit on the ground floor. It's a small complex, with only 9 units, 3 stories, and has a pool. The ocean is on the other side of the road, with turtles. We really liked it.

Try suite-paradise.com. They have a lot of selection and their prices were the best for our choice - Whalers Cove. Alihi Lani's management has some pretty restrictive cancellation policies, so we passed on that one.

Kuhio Shores is right on the water, you might like that one, but no pool and the back of the condos face the road to Spouting Horn, which can be busy. (We stayed in a cottage further down the road toward the boat launch and some of the traffic on that road could be quite noisy). Otherwise, it's quite convenient to a good snorkeling beach right there at the Beachhouse Restaurant.

Kiahuna and Whaler's Cove are two that come to mind. Kiahuna is beachfront. Whaler's Cove is oceanfront with a cute little beach a block away and snorkeling access on site.

My husband and I went through this process a couple of weeks ago. Check out www.gloriasvacationrentals.com. We just booked the Hale Mahana Kai for September. It lists homes, cottages, and condominiums for Poipu beach.
