Pink Jeep tours while pregnant??

I will be in Sedona when I am 3 1/2 months pregnant and would like to go on a Pink Jeep tours. Does anyone know if they have tours that are not rough rides but get you into the canyons to see the red rock? Thanks

Can't resist. Rarely do I meet a pregnant mom-to-be named Dan.

Dan, you can see plenty of red rocks from the road in your rental car. Sedona is a very beautiful area. Don't miss the chapel in the rock cathedral. Can't answer the pink jeep question - I didn't feel the need to take one when I was there.

Dan:

I will be 3 months pregnant going to AZ and also had the same question. Not sure if you got the answer you were looking for. This is my third and with my first I was in cancun 5 months pregnant and couldn't stand the rickety bus ride. It made me naseous. (But I was further along). I think I'm gonna try it unless the tour company has some rule against it. Good luck

call and ask them.....went on the Ancient Ruin tour w/back problems and was fine..if your in fairly good shape you should be just fine at that stage..Scenic Rim tour should be okay too... don`t do the Broken Arrow tour...too rough....they will probably advise against it all..to protect themselves..in my 2 pregnancies I would have done it....

You can reserve the front seat wen you make a reservation...there will be less bounce that way.

I did this for my wife and it worked out fine,,,,they just told the other passengers that the front seat had been reserved.

Dan,

I just checked with my wife, who was in Sedona and took the Pink Jeep Ride 2 months ago.

She says NO WAY! Too rough! The road is not graded, lots of bumps and potholes.

Save it for another day.

We just returned from Sedona and took the Pink Jeep Tours to the Indian ruins (fantastic trip). My friend was 4-1/2 months pregnant and they said "no pregnant ladies allowed". You can see so much from your rental car. Just get a driving tour map from your hotel or pick up a fodors book.

dan have you ever been pregnant before?Just asking because I think that you would need a very strong stomach to go on such an adventure while pregnant. If it was me I would be losing the meager contents of my stomach the whole way.It would be a shame to get sick in a setting like that.Skip it, better safe than sorry, belive me ive been there.

Helloooo...is anyone home...the hell with her stomach...she can throw up all she wants, I would think there is another more critical issue being discussed here!

Oh yea, I didnt fail to miss that, but you would be very surprised at the activities that pregnant woman do these days.I have friends that have water skied, snow skied, rollerbladed, you name it.All with their docotors permission.Being pregnant is not like being a cripple, and many women at 3 1/2 months pregnant are not even showing thier pregnancies yet, while past the critical 12 week mark when miscarraige risks are no longer a major concern. What would you know about it? Are you a doctor? I have been pregnant 4 times and while I am not the athletic type and dont participate in sports while pregnant I do know what I'm talking about, do you?

Tabitha,
Duh may not know what they are talking about, but I do! I've had a normal preg and a miscarriage. After I had my miscarriage I constantly thought about all those things I did because I was preg and not a cripple (your term, not mine---very rude by the way). If Dan values the human life that is growing inside of her, then she should follow most of this good advice and drive her own rental car and not take a chance.

Leigh ann I'm sorry for your loss, and of coarse anyone who has had a high risk pregnancy or miscarraige should be extra cautious. The best advice would be to consult a physician instead of the fodors board in this case. This kind of advice is leaning toward medical which none of us are really qualified to give.Dan,like leigh ann said if you really are worried you should stick to a rental car on paved roads.
