Pineapple Inn-Nantucket

We are planning a short get away and I'm wondering if anyone can give me any opinions/reviews about this inn. Any advice about accomodations would be welcome. Thanks.

Go to martha's vineyard instead - and stay at the charlotte inn or tuscany inn, both in edgartown. you will remember it for the rest of your lives.

But do you know anything about the Pineapple Inn? Or restaurants on Nantucket? We're pretty much committed to going there.

I don't know info about the Pineapple Inn, but Nantucket guest houses are typically very quaint and beautiful. Nantucket has the best restaurants in New England, the best beaches, the best shopping. Don't fret your decision. Nantucket is beautiful. It's the best. Don't go to the vineyard, Nantucket is more exclusive, beautiful, and fun. To eat, check out the Pearl for a very hip wonderful (and expensive) meal. For GREAT food (new American - excellent food) in a much more casual setting go to Black Eyed Susan's on India Street. The food there is simply to die for, and they have a BYO policy, so be sure to stop at Murray's Liquor store on main street before you dine there. Reservations are made that night in person at the restaurant, and it is wildly popular because of the quality of the food. Think 5 star new american food in a casual setting. For beaches, take a stroll down Surfside or if you have a car - take a left just before you hit Surfside and park at the end of the road. Take a trip to Sconset to visit the Summer House for drinks at the pool before sunset, or out to Madaket to watch the sun set over the western part of the island. Bluefin is a nice new place with good sushi.

I just got back from ten days on Nantucket, which is my favorite place on earth. the above poster is correct: the restaurants and beaches are wonderful, and I don't think you'd go wrong with most of the inns in town. Look on www.nantucket.net - the Pineapple Inn probably has a website. We stayed at the Brass Lantern Inn, which was very cute but I'm not so sure I'd stay there again - the bathroom was not very clean when we arrived (they weren't expecting anyone in our room, but still...) We actually walked around looking for a place and found plenty of open rooms. Sign of the economy? Who knows. Some of our favorite meals: lunch at Toppers out at the Wauwinet - take their water taxi from town. The food is wonderful and the service impeccable. We plan to go there for dinner next visit. We also ate at the Summer House, the Pearl, and 21 Federal. The Summer House was one of the best meals I have had in a while, in an absolutely beautiful setting. And seeing the moon over the water out in Sconset is almost worth the trip alone! The Pearl was good, very hip, but it felt a bit too much like NYC which is where we're from. And my lobster entree was $50. While it was delicious, it wasn't THAT good. 21 Federal was quite good, solid. Be warned that restaurant prices on Nantucket will blow you away - they did us, even though we're used to NYC prices. We ate at the American Seasons last summer, which I would heartily recommend.

Rent bikes and ride around - don't drive. utest village, where three-room cottages fetch a million dollars! Surfside has the cleanest water for swimming (free of seaweed, etc.) Madaket is the place to watch the sunset - take a taxi or the bus, which is reliable. Go the Fahey's Frommagerie on Pleasant Street for wine and cheese - great selection. Just check your credit card bill or pay cash - they'd overcharged me AFTER I signed the receipt.

Wish i had seen the last posting before our trip to Nantucket. We are from the NYC area but were still blown away by the prices of everything.

Nevertheless,,,,,Nantucket is a lovely, beautiful, peaceful spot.

Rates at some of the top places to stay have been reduced. you will have a great time!

Sorry i am not familiar with the Pineapple Inn. We stayed at the Cliffside Beach Club- right on the beach on the north shore. It is a great spot with a great restaurant for lunch or dinner(sunset view). Previous poster gave great recommendations. Enjoy!
