Picking just 1 restaurant in Asheville

My husband and I are traveling to Asheville, NC, for a quick getaway. We will only being staying 1-2 nights, and plan to visit the Biltmore. I've heard that Asheville has some wonderful restaurant choices, so we want the best experience possible & would like to make reservations. Keeping in mind that I am vegetarian and this is a one shot deal.....anyone with a recommendation? THANKS!

Golden Horn. It's downtown. Great food. Has veggie dishes.

My pick would be Gabrielle's. It's in the Richmond Hill Inn. If you go ask for the table on the patio in the far corner by the kitchen. Golden Horn is another good choice. Skip Horizon's at the Grove Park Inn. Too upscale with an ego to go with it. If looking for some adventure go to Sinbad's in Hendersonville about 15 miles south of Asheville. Excellent middle eastern food in a restored Victorian home. Any more questions please ask.

I would also recommend Gabrielle's. It's one of our favoriate places and everything has always been excellent. The setting is in a bed and breakfast and it's lovely. I little tricky to get to but well worth it. Enjoy!

I would also concur with Gabrielle's. It served two different fixed price, either $58 or $85.00. I will also mention that four of us dined rthere one night and i did not particularly care for the lamb on the menue. The waiter was somewhat unconcerned. I took a comment card and wrote about my experience. A few days later i received a call from the manager with his apolgoies and he insisted on refunding the price of my dinner. I really didn't want it because everything else was so great but he insisted. Out freinds who travel a great deal said it was the best meal they have ever had. So we made a deal - he could refund the meal and i would save it and spend next spring when we go to Ashville.

The pont is - this is the kind of establsihment it is. When something does go wrong, they are very quick to rectify the situation.
