Phoenix romantic hotel recs...

We're going to be in Phoenix on business but, it will coincide with a special celebration. Any recommendations for the best place for a romantic weekend? Spa services would be a plus. Maybe the Royal Palms Resort? Any ideas?

We live in the Phoenix area. Royal Palms is great. We decided to spend the night there for our anniversary last year and had dinner in T. Cook's. Beautiful courtyards and great food. The spa is rated very highly, although I can't give a personal recommendation since we didn't use it.

Thanks for the reply! We've never been to Phoenix. Is it a long drive to Sedona? Any opinions on whether it would be worth it to drive to Sedona for a romantic weekend? If so,any recs on best place to stay? We could also stay in Phoenix. Just looking for something special.

I don't think you can beat the Phoenician, it's my favorite in Phoenix. The Biltmore was nice too, but the Phoenician really spoke to me.

Phoenix to Sedona is about a 2 hour drive depending on traffic. Enchantment Resort seems good for a romantic weekend but I haven't stayed there personally. I don't think you can beat Sedona for romantic.

I think it depends on whether you want to spend part of your romantic weekend driving or just relaxing in Phoenix.

thanks everyone!i'm still looking at both options...Phoenix or Sedona? not sure yet. we have 3 nights we can spend so i'm leaning towards Sedona because we will already be in Phoenix for a week at a "regular" hotel. Sedona might be more special because the drive is supposed to be beautiful?
any Sedona hotel recs to look at?

Well I mentioned Enchantment Resort in my previous post. I guess it depends on how much you want to spend.

Sorry Paula, thanks for the recommendation! Enchantment looks great but I'm leaning towards L'Auberge. The creekside cottage for $425 a night is available.Compared with the least expensive room at enchantment, a junior suite at $450 I'm thinking its a good price. Any opinions about L'Auberge?

L'auberge is a bit more centraly located both are nice. Make sure that you are ready to be active as the Main Street of Sedona (plus chapel and scenic drive) usually only takes up a full day.

So the main thing the locals go up to Sedona to do is hike/bike.

Have you looked at the Sanctuary in Phoenix? Better Spas and dining in Phoenix. Sanctuary is uber romantic. Great pool.

Try a bike Ride at Eric's bike & Hike in Old Town Scottsdale for a romantic afternoon/morning. Good bonding. Work up an appetite for those great restaurants

Have a great getaway!
