Hi all, if you are using Firefox, then you can download all these neat plugins like the 'Remove Permanently' plugin for one. You right-click on the ad/pop-up you don't want and remove them and you'll never see it again. So, not only am I pop-up free, I'm ad free as well. I don't even have the yellow banner and fodors logo

That's neat. Now if I could just get Firefox not to return me to post number one every time I look at a post or respond to one on Fodors, and if I could get it not to close itself and the websites I'm visiting every time I leave the computer for five minutes, maybe I'd use it more.

Just a thought, but possibly too much time within the fodors site distorts and begins to turn minor variants into major issues. pop-ups are at bare minimum a tiny irritant, IMHO. Not interested in pursuing this more, so flame me if you must. LOL, and ciao.

You aren't worth flaming, Joe, or whatever new name you're using these days to throw insults at me and others.
Having something stuck between my teeth is a minor irritant too, but it is worth it to me to get some dental floss and get rid of it. Why would anyone want to live with any minor irraitant if there is an easy way to get rid of it? I only wish I knew how dental floss or something else so basic could get rid of idiotic posters who like to talk about how others spend too much time here. They're even more irritating that those bits that get stuck between my teeth.

It's come to the point where I'm almost too bored by him to post Patrick, but I did get a kick out of your depiction of him as one of those nasty little germs residing just below or above the gum line--an icky bit of tartar to flick out with some dental floss. "LOL"

Patrick, the last few hours I have had Hawaiin Airlines ad "pop up", but not all the time. Think I will blame this on you, LOL. And yes it is annoying. First time I have had this problem since I purchased my laptop and my SIL put in the firewall etc. OH, btw, when I click "close" on the Hawaiian Air ad guess what? It takes me to their website!!! Wish I could just use dental floss to get rid of it. The advertisement and a few people if you know what I mean. Take care.

You know the P-Town thread was frozen.
Just a day after sweet mom said she'd like ME to accompany her there sometime SOON.
I will get information elsewhere but
was looking forward to Fodors Talk.
please people,
can we Just Live and Let Live?
Do we always have to be RIGHT and have the Last Word?
Please stick to true travel.

I'm confused why you posted that on this thread, wanderluster. While this thread may not be travel -- it is totally about this very site and how to navigate and use it. Or is that your point?
And what's this "attitude" about getting the last word? Are you suggesting that if someone posts "the best way to take money to Europe is Travler's Checks" or "when going to New York City be sure to rent a car" that we should all sit there and keep our mouths shut? The only way to get good information is for people to give positives and negatives back and forth and let people decide. Are you saying when it was announced that no one calls Provincetown PTown, we should have all kept our mouths shut so the uninformed reader would believe that stupid comment? I for one, do not see an advantage to ignoring misinformed or simply wrong statements. This is a forum for information and people have the right to have posters clarify or correct wrongly stated information.
