We like Cafe Bizou in Old Town as well, and also Firefly Bistro in South Pasadena (on El Centro, near Fremont and Mission - go south on Fair Oaks and right on El Centro, one block after Mission). Maybe 3-4 miles from Pasadena? It has an outdoor setting, good food, and a really killer weekend brunch (especially the crab cili rellenos).
