24 hour parking, in that area. is going to cost anywhere from $30 to $40 a day. If you are not going to use the car parking on the far west side (10th Ave. and west) would cost between $15 and $20 a day. There is an outdoor secure lot on 11th Ave. and 61st Street where the cost is less than $20 a day. A taxi from there to 7th and 56th would ocst around $5. It is less than a one mile walk.

I think 24 hour indoor parkign should be readily available at $30 per 24 including taxes. If it's more than that just drive around for a block or two until you find another garage. Keep in mind that as you cross 8th Ave going east and get anywhere near the high rent business district, the Theatre district or the Time Square area, prices go up dramatically. It wouldn't surprise me if the price is as high as $40 in thohse areas. Unfortunately, my favorite garage which was at 40th and 8th and charged only $19 pe 24 hours with tax has been taken over by Hertz. SErvice is less efficient, they now cloase at 11 PM and prices have gone up a bit. They still usually have a great weekend day rate that runs from mid-day until closing (any 12 hours). Much cheaper than the open lots and other garages in that immediate area.

The previous posters are correct. If you park a bit further west, the rates will be lower.
When I drove into the office on Saturday, I would use a lot on 58th and 10th, just across from the Hospital. (Make a left onto 58th from 10th.) The rates were pretty decent. It also allowed me easy access to 11th Ave. as I went back downtown towards the Lincoln Tunnel.
