parking at or around jfk airport

We need to park our car at or around JFK Airport for 2 weeks in July- any ideas out there? We are driving in from Upstate New York for an overseas flight. Thanks!

I posted a similar question last week and received 0 responses. Here's what I do know. You can park in the long term parking lot for $10.00 per day. From there you have to board the AirTrain at what seems to be the Howard Beach station. The AirTrain is free if you are using their long term parking lot. I wanted to know (and still do) how much time I should allow to park and take the AirTrain to reach Terminal 6 for a 5:30PM flight on a weekday next month. My concern is that I have read and heard that there are still many glitches with the AirTrain.

We have always parked in the long term lot without a problem. I don't know if the airtrain is running..the last time we were at JFK was last spring..so I'm not up to date on that. There are shuttle buses that run frequently from to lot to the terminals. I don't recall waiting more than 15 minutes for a shuttle. When we travel, my husband insists on getting to the airport very early, "just in case". Traffic from Ct. thru to JFK can be horrible, so I can't really blame him. Our parking there has always gone very smoothly and has been safe. Heve you checked the JFK airport site?

Allison, according to the JFK website there aren't any shuttle buses anymore. You have to use the AirTrain. I've decided to arrive at the airport no later than 2:00PM just in case.
