Parking at New Haven CT train station

Does anyone know about what time you need to get to the New Haven Train Station by on a Friday in order to get a spot in the parking garage? I know they do have overflow lots, not sure how convenient they are though and I'd rather leave the car in the garage as I will be gone two nights. Thanks

If the garage is full, don't worry. Union Station in New Haven now has valet. Simply pull up to the front doors and a valet attendant will take your car, give you a ticket, and you are on your way. Valet is $20.00 per day, and the best part, when you are returning, simply call the number on the back of the ticket and your vehicle will be out front waiting for you.

Thanks, does that $20 include the parking? Or is that just for the valet to park it for you?

Isabel, that probably includes parking but not a tip.

Thats not a bad 2nd option behind parking yourself. Its $15 a day for the garage. I have never run into an instance when the garage was full but I always tend to get there very early. What time are you looking to get there?

Great to know about the valet!

During this season it can fill early, but it just varies.

I don't need to go till the 9:30 train but I figured it would be safer to get there for the 8:50, just wondering if that would be too late. There's an 8:17 and and an 8:04 but I have an almost two hour drive to get to New Haven so any earlier would be a real pain. What do you think?

Wallingford has 100 free parking spots and a shuttle that takes you to New Haven. The fare from Wallingford is the same as from New Haven ($38)
