PARIS AND OTHER VEGAS HOTELS

A friend of mine at work recently came back from Las Vegas. She stayed at the Paris Hotel. She has been to Vegas several times, and she personally did not like the hotel, referring to it as "snotty". She advised me when I go to Vegas (1st time) to stay at Belligio. She also liked Caesars and the Mirage. Any comments?

There are probably more opinions posted about Las Vegas hotels in the archives here than about any other topic.
I'll bet there are well over 1000 opinions there about the various LV hotels.
Many good websites also specifically deal with storing personal experiences at the LV hotels for your review.

As to your comments:
Most (but definitely not all) readers here will tell you that Bellagio is LV's top hotel/casino. Is it perfect? No. Is it expensive? Yes. Can you run into a cranky desk attendant at any hotel in the country and leave with a bad impression of the place? Yes.

Paris is a decent property overall. Paris does not competee directly with Bellagio for clients. Bellagio competes with Venetian and Four Seasons in particular, and to some extent with Mandalay Bay.
Paris is the next level down and competes with places like Mirage and Caesar's and even Treasure Island.

If you want the best overall Vegas experience, stay at Bellagio. There are plenty of good alternatives though, and Bellagio does not appeal to everyone's taste.
Caesar's ahs much more of the "Old Vegas" feel to it....the LV from the 1970's. Some people love that.
Depends on what your tastes are.

I stayed at the Paris last fall and thought it was a very nice hotel and fairly well priced. Didn't find the staff snotty at all. Location is great and you are right next door to the Aladin which has a great shopping mall. The buffet was better than most. I have stayed at Monte Carlo and Luxor also all in the same price range - found Paris the best of all 3. Maybe next time I will get more discriminating with my taste and try Bellagio. Than again, how long are you in your room and actual hotel?

We just stayed in the new tower at Caesar's Palace. Our room was large and very nice. The bathroom was beautiful with marble and a whirlpool tub. We also appreciated the fact that it was very quiet there. We were glad we stayed there also b/c it was very hot out and we spent a lot of time in Caesar's casino and at the Forum shops.

Hi;

We were just in Vegas last week. I wanted to stay at Paris but it was too expensive. The reservationist suggested staying at Bally's as the two are joined at the casino. Bally's was only $72/night. The room was huge and newly remodeled!! At least twice the size of a normal room. Very nice marble bath also.

Stayed at the Mandala Bay when it first opened. This place is really nice too. Probably the best pool/beach area in Vegas. But it is at the far end of the strip. We ended up taking cabs back at night, just too tired to walk back.

Avoid the Flamingo, old nasty, expensive rooms. It also takes about a week to walk from the front of the casino to your room thru a maze of hallways.

My Mom stayed at the Bellagio last year and loved it. Said it was the nicest room she had ever been in. I don't know if this helps or not.

We just returned from 2 over rated nites at Paris. The casino is noisy, very, food expensive for mediocre stuff, rooms were alright, but most of them in LV are. Spend a few extra bucks and go to Bellagio, Mandalay Bay or the Venetian.
