A "queen" room, which is not the smallest, is probably about 10x12. It's small but a lot of NY hotel rooms are that small, at least in all of the older renovated ones. If you want to know exactly, just ask them, it's not a secret; they know the dimensions, as that's how I decided on the one I wanted. I was not awed at all by the decor and design even though I'm from out of town; non-NY residents are not all tasteless hicks off the farm, and there is art, design and architecture outside of NYC (I have seen black, white and gray before). I am a business traveler and stay there and I know other people in the arts who stay there on business, as it's a great location for theater business, so I think you must really want to do something in particular in your hotel room that you aren't mentioning. If you want to have a desk and work a lot with a computer or something on it, that room is too small, and you would not want to invite guests into it. But you could easily futz around with your laptop getting your email or something. The room is large enough to have a separate stand to put your suitcase on, and doesn't look very shabby to me.
