Palm Springs, pools and $

Planning Palm Spring trip the last week of March. Will be travelling with an 8 year old. We plan to do lots of outdoor stuff (tram, Joshua, etc) but being an 8 year old will also want to spend some quality pool time. Any suggestions as to which hotel has a nice pool (and other kid stuff) and in the 150/night max range?

Unlikely to get a big resort at that kind of money but I have stayed at a very nice Fairfield Inn on 111 in Palm Desert. Decent pool, nice breakfast, good location and reasonable price. There may be a Fairfiled or a Holiday Inn Express or similar directly in Palm Springs but I was happy with this location.

Most, if not all, accomodations at this level have decent pools.

There is a Super 8 on the north end of Palm Canyon Drive that is nice. It has a decent pool. Stayed there many times. Also, keep in mind that you are in prime spring break time. Not sure what the scene is like these days, but it used to be crawling with students in March.

Good Luck!

Thanks all. I realize the spring break timing...is "crawling with students accurate"? Comments form anyone who has been there lately during the last week in March?

Try The Las Brisas Resort(a best western hotel), great location in the heart of palm springs within walking distance of shoppes, restaurants etc. Beautiful property, nice sized rooms and decor, medium sized pool with water misters, pool bar and fountains, complimentary full, cooked to order breakfast (omlets & waffles), fun, friendly staff. A quick check of their site shows rates in your range. Not a mega resort but comfy and you can't beat the location!
