Palm Springs over Memorial Day--Will we melt?

My fiance and I were thinking of taking a trip to Palm Springs over Mem. Day weekend (we live in San Diego), but I'm worried that it will be too hot. All we really want to do is sit by the pool all day. Will it be too uncomfortable to sit outside?

If so, any other suggestions for a weekend pool getaway within driving distance of SD?

It will be hot but not so hot that you can't sit by the pool. Nearly all resorts have outdoor misters to cool people off.

We've been there over Mem. Day weekend the last two years. Temps were in the 95-105 range, not too hot for lounging poolside. If you're golfers, book tee times for as early morning as possible.

Any where from 80's to low 100's. Very unpredictable that time of year. But if you are just pool-sitting I do not think you will melt, that happens in July.

We go to Palm Desert on Memorial and Labor Day weekends. Memorial Day is the more pleasant around the pool. It's warm, but you are cooled off by the misters and dipping in the water. Make reservations soon for lodging and nice restaurants, the desert fills up those times.

Phew! I was so depressed at the thought that I might not be able to sit my lazy bum by the pool all weekend long! Thank you all so much for the input.

While we're on the topic, does anyone have any thoughts as to the best place in PS for pool lounging and spa treatments? We're considering the Viceroy because I have heard it's fairly luxurious and quiet and that the pool isn't usually very crowded. We also considered Le Parker Meridian but I have heard that the pools are small and packed. I'm definitely open for suggestions if anyone cares to share!

Be careful during that time because large groups from los angeles have annual get togeathers in Palm Springs during that weekend. We went last year and our hotel the wyndam was at full capacity and you couldn't buy 2 inches of space. I love La Quinta because it has like 40 pools, a great spa and fitness center.
