Packing List for Alaska

We leave in less than 2 weeks for our 2 week vacation in Alaska, so please help me with my packing list. We will be taking long boat tours, halibut fishing, hiking, kayaking, Denali shuttle bus, etc.

sleep masks
sunglasses
DEET
rain jacket (baseball cap to wear under hood)
fleece jacket
synthetic long underwear/long-sleeved shirts
hats and gloves
binoculars (1 for each person)
wind pants/hiking pants
t-shirts
hiking shoes, atheletic shoes, Teva sandals
swim suits (for hot tubs)
walking shorts
Toursaver book; Denali shuttle tickets
Milepost and other guidebooks
Proof of insurance to keep in rental car
Cameras, memory cards, film, etc.

Please let me know what I've missed or overlooked! Thank you!

anti-seasickness medication and/or sea bands? ginger candy?
I got a shoulder pouch bag from LL Bean for all the stuff. It's big enough for the usual pocketbook stuff plus camera, binoculars and sandals but it's small than a back pack. If have a small back pack already, that's fine. Everyone should be responsible for their own water bottle.
You might not need sunscreen but I should have had some for last June when I spent a day at the Palmer fairgrounds.
small insulated bag if there's any chance you'll picnic. I also carried frozen vacuum packed smoked salmon home in mine. Inside bag put some ziploc bags, plastic cutlery, etc.
Roll of paper towels for the car & wet wipes. A couple of plastic trash bags.
travelers checks (not all places take credit cards and we're probably the last people in the world who don't have ATM cards)
Will you need to do laundry?
Postcard stamps and address stickers.
Have a GREAT trip!

If you are hiking, your T-shirts should be the "wicking" variety. Bring a small amount of duct tape (you can wind some of it around a pencil and have enough to use without bringing the whole roll) for emergencies. Do you have a backpack for the day trips?

Oh, what great ideas! Please keep them coming . . . I think everyone going to Alaska can benefit from such terrific suggestions. Thanks so much!

dfrostnh, don't feel alone--we don't have ATM cards, either. ;-)

Dang, I forgot to mention a small first aid kit. Duct tape is a great idea. I always have a second pair of glasses.
