Package Tours to Hawaii??

I am trying to book a trip to Hawaii for
April 2000, however I am finding most travel agencies do not have listings for 2000 yet. I need to book my flight now for the trip. I need some suggestions of travel agencies group tours and others experiences on tour packages to Hawaii- the dos and don'ts.....

Try Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays, Haddon Holidays, or Globetrotters. They all specialize in HI. Do a search on Web to find there sites. Good Luck!

I agree with BeBe that you should try someone like Pleasant Hawaiian - they have an excellent reputation for value and reliability. Also Delta Flyaway Vacations and other airline packages can be very competitive! Good luck & have a wonderful time!

Be careful when you book through Pleasant Hawaiian. They have great rates on some low budget hotels, so be prepared to look at something other than the lowest price they offer. Do some research on the hotels before you book.

Ariane, John makes a good point. I know my hotels very well from previous visits to the islands, travel guides, research on the web, etc., so I would already know what I want when I look at packages. But if you're not very familiar with the hotels, there are some excellent guides like Frommers, the Paradise Guides to Hawaii, Fodors, etc. Pleasant Hawaiian also has virtual tours of some of the hotels at their website, "pleasantholidays.com", and of course, you can throw the hotel names out on the Forum, and usually get comments! Good luck!

ariane--how about the airlines themselves? You can call American, or whomever the airline, and ask for their vacation packages. I would think they are out by now?

My wife and I just returned from 8 nights on Maui. We used AAA, which ended up booking us a fly-stay-drive package from Classic Hawaiian. I did LOTS of checking around, and this was the best deal we could find. We stayed at the Hyatt (daily breakfast buffet included), flew non-stop from St. Louis to Honolulu, and had a convertible car rental. I'd use Classic again.

Hi Brian,

Great timing on your post as I too am working with AAA and a Classic deal.

Would it be too much for me too ask what your 8 days cost you?

We were looking at 7 days, flying from Dayton, OH and staying at some of the 5 diamond properties on Kauai and the BI. All ocean front view. It was going to be $4,200 which I thought was much too high. The flight is reasonable but the hotel cost seem very high.

Did you get a "free" night for staying at the same location? We were looking at 3 motels in total. Princeville Resort, Sheraton Kauai, and Mauua Lani Bay Hotel.

Thanks for post, it was perfect timing.

Our agent has suggested looking at some of the 3 1/2 diamond properties to get the cost down. My hubby wants to go to the Princeville!

I thought about looking at other packages to get the cost down.

Any suggestions.

I've used infinity travel for the past two vacations to Hawaii, they are really nice and reliable. I think their website is www.travel-hawaii.com
