PA to Woods Hole, Ma

Driving from PA to Woods Hole, MA in the fall (8 hours). Looking for an interesting place to visit and stay overnight about halfway to Woods Hole. Could be off the path a bit.

Four hours from Woods Hole would be North Jersey or Southern New York.

West Point? Bear Mountain?

You'd have to take a slight out-of-the-way route, but if you took 87N and then 90E (the Mass Pike), you could stop in Stockbridge, MA.
