Overnight Trips from Kansas City

We will be in Kansas City for four days at the end of September. Looking for suggestions for an overnight trip from Saturday to Sunday. Thanks.

You could try St. Louis. The Lake of the Ozarks. Branson.

Much closer, you could spend the night in Lawrence, KS, which is only an hour away but a beautiful college town with plenty to do.

Branson, MO; Omaha, NE; St Joseph, MO; Madison County, IA; Hutchinson, KS; Lawrence, KS; Herman, MO; Columbia, MO; Rocheport, MO.

Depending on what you actually want to do, there are many choices. Those are all within 1-4 hours.

Drive to Rocheport, MO, spend the day antique shopping, hiking the Katy Trail, Les Bourgeouis restaurant, and spend the night at a b&b. This isn't high style, but a nice weekend.

Have you been to the Truman Museum & Presidential Library in Independence, MO? One of the most comprehensive museums and nice, peaceful grounds. Would take less than 1/2 day for the tour etc. but definitely worth a visit.
