Other than seeing the Monuments...

What are some Washington DC tourist things to do?

I heard there was a place that would let you print your own money or even create your own constitution.

Or what are some trends and traditions in DC. I know it's illegal to fly a kite and stuff.

Do you guys know any places or things to do like this in the area?

What to do in DC is limited only by the amount of time you have to spend there and your ability to walk. You have to remember that most of the major museums require the better part of a day if you want to even begin to see everything. If you are not careful you can get museum overload pretty quickly.

I could spend a week a year for the rest of my life and not see everything I would like to see. Besides the obvious monumnents, museums, cemetaries, federal buildings etc, I enjoyed Montecello, and Mt. Vernon (a car is needed), the Air and Space Annex at Dulles, Alexandria, Georgetown, and the list goes on. Oh yeah, be sure to make a reservation and see the International Spy Museum.

And then there are the civil war battlefields within driving distance of DC.

Dang, I have some vacation and some FF miles left, I'm talking myself into another trip.

I was afraid I would do that too ... and you summarized the situation pretty good!

I wanna do stupid things that regular people in DC do.

Tourist-type or local type.

If people like to throw wet cabbage over a bridge, and that's specifically a DC thing....I wanna throw some cabbage.

Kinda catch what I'm getting at?

When are you going and for how long? Tourists go to the museums, memorials, the zoo, and places like the White House, Capitol, etc. I love it all and I grew up in the area. You just missed the Cherry Blossom Parade so "when" can be relevant. Fireworks on the mall if you're there on the 4th. You might be interested in a visiting exhibit. There's no end to fun, exciting, interesting things to do. I have to at least mention the Redskins. Everyone is a fan.
