I am traveling to Florida and I was interested to know of other good message boards or websites to look at.

This is the best travel forum, but if you're interested in food, go to the Chowhounds website for Florida:
http://www.chowhound.com/south/boards/florida/florida.html

mmmm!

I would have to agree that this is definitely the best travel forum I have found. You can post any question you want and normally get many, many, replies very quickly. I have tried this on other boards with no success at all.

Jim, did you have specific questions? I live in Florida.

Thanks for the replies. I agree this message board is VERY helpful but always like to know of other alternatives for more ideas. Thanks for the Chowhound message board that looks pretty informative.
Sonya,
I don't know where you are from but I'm going to Clearwater area. Probably staying at the Adam's Mark (thats where my reservations are but I can always cancel them if I hear of a better idea. I see lots of people life St. Pete's beach as well. Do you leave near either. I'm flying into Tampa and from there who knows. People also say Sand Key is nice. Is that for families? This is a trip for my wife and I. I want to enjoy time alone with her. We have two young boys 9m and 22m and need time alone to relax and enjoy each other.

Jim, since you're apparently on AOL, have you tried their travel boards? I find that some AOL travel boards are excellent, but others totally quiet. I guess it depends on how many people have info to offer about a specific location and participate. The AOL travel boards for Florida are pretty busy; AOL has even divided the state into regions to help get the traffic under control.

Go to AOL keyword "Travel" and then to "Message boards" under "Travel Talk".

Have you tried these travel message boards Jim: Independent Traveler,
Arthur Frommers, Concierge, Trip Smarter, Dine, Global Dining, 411 Dining, Roadfood & Insiders besides the Frommers AOL travel message board as given above, which is the best on the internet. Valuable information on all these boards.

Just insert "www." in front of any of the websites followed by ".com" with no spacing. This will take you directly to the site. Example: www.concierge.com

Jim, if you like wine, or even if you just like good food, be sure to take your wife to Bobby's Bistro in Clearwater. It is a little hard to find, because it is located behind the "parent" restaurant, Heilman's Beachcomber. You'll love it - casual and romantic outdoor seating. Also, if you have wheels: the Lobster Pot for the absolute best lobster - not much atmosphere, but when you taste the food, you won't care! One more: the Salt Rock Grill. This is the place to see and be seen. Open kitchen, great food. You'll need res for all these. Have a great time!

P.S. I live on Treasure Island, and the Adam's Mark is in a great location.

Jim; I don't know a thing about the area you are going to visit but I did want to acknowledge how nice it is to hear a husband plan a romantic getaway for him and his wife. You sound like a great guy. I hope you and your wife have a peaceful, restful, and fun holiday.

Thanks Rachel!
I am no saint but my wife might be one.
We have a good marriage and I want to keep it that way. Since I do not make that much money (my wife teaches elementary special education but is taking a year off to be at home)we never get to do this. There is no better investment than ones marriage. We love the life we lead and know how lucky we are to be blessed with our two young sons. We are just going crazy! It will be a well enjoyed trip and a just want to make it as good as possible.
