Orlando - Holiday Villas - any experiences?

Hello. I am looking for a very reasonable place to stay in Orlando for 4 nights for a large family of 6 adults and 3 children this summer, near Disneyworld. Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Villas in Orlando recently - in last year or so? It is one of the options offered by the Dreamsunlimited site which has received good reviews here. I saw just one posting here about the Villas which is few years old and gave really bad reviews. Anyone has had any experience to share about this place to stay?
Thank you.

You might want to check out some lodging tips on wdwig.com Deb Wills posts tips and reports from WDW fans, you might find some recommendations. Also hotelkingdom.com has some bargain rates.

Deb on allears.net seems to support the All Star Vacation homes and reviews on her site are good for these homes. I would like to get some reviews from other sites. Has anyone stayed at the All Star Vacation homes - any information on good rental homes will be appreciated. I have already looked at the many other websites recommended (vrbo.com, wdwig.com, etc.) Am looking for some firsthand feedback of someone who has stayed at a good vacation home.
Thank you.

The www.orlandovillas.com site has a link to a very organized forum where people write about their experiences w/renting villas. I realize you want recommendations from here, but aren't getting any so far, so I thought I'd point you to that if it might help. I used that site alot when I first rented a villa a few yrs ago, in order to assess what area to go to, what to look for in a villa, people's experiences, etc. The link to the forum is on the right side of the page when you go to www.orlandovilla.com They also have a private message function so you can talk privately w/people who have had good experiences and get recommendations; it is better to do that privately as they don'twant any advertisements of specific homes on the forum. You can post a question like "woudl like to hear fom peole who have had really good expereince w/a particualr home and woudl recommend it- please send me a private message" and then check your private message box periodically on that site and you will get replies. I have found the folks on that forum to be very helpful and forthcoming. Also, there is a map available on there w/locations of all the villa sites and a description of the communities.

Thank you, that is helpful. I will check it out. I am surprised I am not getting much response here - usually this is a good forum to get advice/suggestions.

Thanks.

Aurora, I'll let you know how I enjoy the home I am renting in April form Award Pool Homes. But they are not inexpensive. I chose them this time because they are rated by AAA and also participate in the Better Buiness Bureau program, so I thought if I have trouble, I'll have leverage to deal w/it. Also, I rented late and I needed certain thigns and I found those w/an Award house, at a cost. I have noticed much less expensive prices on the orlandovilla site and it's two related sites- bu tthey do book up also. With those sites, you put in a general inquiry for the dates you want and you get emails back from the owners who have openings those dates. Some of them are very reasonable; most are owned by Brits. I've particiapted in their forum alot the past few months and they seem to be trustworthy folks who just want to get their houses rented; they have management cos. they deal w/in Orlando to deal w/the specifics...
Let us know what you end up booking and how it goes. I don't think enough people know this is an option in Orlando. I stayed crammed in hotels for years w/our family, never knowing there were so many nice homes available to rent.

We just got back from staying at Holiday Villas in Orlando (actually Kissimee) and it was an okay stay. The unit (2bedroom/2 bath) was exceptionally clean and there's lots of room. They supply laundry detergent for the washing machines, toliet paper and paper towels plus all linens. We were busy going to and from parks so really only slept there and ate breakfast. Excellent location to get to Disneyworld and Seaworld. Loads of restaurants closeby. All in all, an excellent choice and you cannot beat the price. Our stay was from March 14-19 in the Laguna Bay section. The only complaint we had was that they could not accomodate us for an extra night but that was really okay. There is a Disney shuttle that comes to pick up and drop off regularly. Let me know if you need any other info. We enjoyed it - very peaceful and quiet, with a nice playground and swimming pool.

Just to throw you a curve, we used vrbo.com when we rented a 4 bdrm home in Kissimmee last year. The entire experience was positive. Great rate too. Post back if you'd like more details.
