Um - Miami and Key West are nowhere near Orlando - hours away. Have you looked at transport? it will take you most of a day to GET to Key West - even if you fly it will take a good part of it.
Suggest you need a map of FL and also to check out directions on yahoo.

Agreed with nytraveler -- I'd either focus on Orlando or Miami/Key West for your 5 days.
If you want to base yourself in Orlando but spend a couple of your days someplace closer by, either St. Augustine or Tampa/St. Petersburg are good choices.
If you decide on Miami/Key West, you might have an extra day to explore Ft. Lauderdale or West Palm Beach/Palm Beach.

I agree with everyone else. In only one day, you'll get nothing of the feel of Miami or Key West, and to make matters worse, I don't think 2/3 days is sufficient for Disneyworld.
If you've been to Orlando several times, 2 or 3 days might be enough, but if you've never been there, you'll want to spend at least one day at the Magic Kingdom, one day at Epcot, and the area I'm dying to see (but haven't) is the area with the animals - can't think of the name.

I think it took me 3.5 hours to drive to Miami from Orlando last time I was there. And then, Key West is at least another 4 hours from Miami. Maybe knock KW off the wish list and focus on Orlando - Miami. OR you could consider Orlando - Daytona/St. Augustine, Orlando - Tampa/Sarasota.

I'll agree with the posters above that you can't do justice to Key West of Miami with one day at each location. I will also say that it is YOUR vacation, and you should spend it doing what you enjoy (and disregard any ridiculously judgmental remark made about it).

My only concerns with this is where you go from Key West (ie, do you have to get back to Orlando to fly home) and how many days you have for that. Otherwise, this is a similar itinerary to the one we're doing this month. We are staying 3 nights in Orlando (not interested in the parks - but will spend one day at Kennedy Space Center), then driving down to Miami (staying at an airport hotel!) and then driving to Key West, where we're spending 2 nights. (We're driving back to Tampa via Naples and up the Gulf coast as we have another week after that.)
The distances aren't huge, but you will be limited to what you will have time to do and see. However, people are different, and while others might enjoy staying in one place for a week - others are happier seeing snippets of life in different places.
For 2 days in Orlando, you could visit Disney and one of the other parks. That's more than enough for many people - but if you are really into theme parks, perhaps you should consider dumping Miami and Key West in favour of more time in Orlando? Otherwise, when you drive down to Miami (longish but easy drive) you will have time to stroll the art district of Miami Beach and have something to eat. You might also be able to fit in a Duck tour! Anyway, you will get a flavour of Miami, but nothing more - but I expect you already know that.
The drive to Key West does take about 4 hours, but you should make time for stops along the way. Some places of interest include, the African Queen at Key Largo (berthed at the Holiday Inn - though I think it might've gone somewhere for refit) - lunch at a choice of many delightful waterside restaurants - feeding the tarpon at Robbies - Turtle Hospital - Dolphin Research Center - Bahia Honda NP (check out a good map). Depending on what time you leave Miami (and the traffic!) and how many stops you make en route, by the time you get to Key West (where do you plan staying?) it will be late afternoon/early evening - but you still will have time to experience Duval Street and take in the sunset celebration at Mallory Square - especially if you base yourself in Old Town rather than New Town. Have a great time!

Flying from Orlando to Miami to Key West just changes your transit time from the windshield to the gate at the airport. You spend a minimum of 4 hours to fly these segments as drive. You pick up no more leisure time and increase your spend.
I agree with all the above. Your plan puts you in the car for three of five available days. Not a vacation by me.
