Orchid Hotel on the Big Island

My husband and I are planning on staying at the Orchid for 6 nights (without the baby!) Anyone heard anything good/bad about the hotel? Is it worth the money?

We didn't stay there, but know someone who did. We stayed right next door and it is a fantastic location. Enjoy

My husband & I stayed there last April & it was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms & the grounds were so beautiful & make sure you get a massage in one of the oceanside cabanas. Very relaxing! The food is great too even though it's a little pricey, but worth it. Make sure you have breakfast every morning oceanside watching the beautiful blue water against the black lava. Heavenly! That hotel used to be the Ritz-Carlton. We were glad we stayed there instead of the Hilton. The Hilton is very nice too, but we thought the Orchid was a little classier & more laid back. Enjoy!

You'll have a wonderful time! Definately worth it. Very nice and tranquil. Be sure to look for the sea turtles along the lava shore line. I second the massage idea. Have a great trip = )

We have stayed there and love it! Next door is the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and the Canoe House Restaurant...No matter where we stay in this area, we always eat there one night as the sun goes down.

The Mauna Kea Beach Resort is our other favorite. That is a great place to see an older style Luau (a bit pricey, but we think well worth it!).

You've made a great choice!
