Options for the solo traveler?

I am currently (and purposely) between jobs for the next year and would like to travel in the US and abroad but have run out of travel companions. Are there any good tour companies that put together quality tours for solo travelers? I am in my late 30's, pretty well traveled and not interested in a bike tour, roughing it outdoors or any wild singles adventures. I like almost all types of sightseeing and also enjoy beaches and water sports. Any ideas or leads??

It's from a thread on the European forum.

Yes, but is being a Loon a serious thing? Does Elvira lead tour groups or something?

Pam, I haven't been a regular reader of the European forum in several months, but I'll try to describe Elvira. She is a frequent poster on the European forum. She travels with other ladies, and they call themselves the loons. Elvira has provided a lot of useful advice, and has a great sense of humor. If you want more information, pull up the thread "who are you" or "where are you" on the European forum and you'll find lots of info about the regular posters. Good luck.

This is the only one I know of, but it looks pretty good: www.osolomio.com
They have both US and foreign tours, will help you get roommate if you wish, and have tours by age group also (60+, 20s, all ages). Prices look very reasonable to me for what you get.l

Thanks all for the suggestions. The osolomio web site looks quite promising!
