Opinions on SF- Ramada (Downtown)

I'll be visiting S.F. for 2 nights in July, and have reserved a room at Ramada-Downtown. Please give me any opinions or advice for our stay.

If you mean the Ramada on Market STreet, it's over by the Civic Center and not in the normal "tourist" area. There's another at Fisherman's Wharf that is quite touristy.

Is it the hotel that used to be called the San Franciscan? If so, I'd change hotels ASAP!!! The largest bugs I've ever seen in a hotel graced the place when I stayed there a few years ago. This is fairly typical of Ramada, I think.

KEVIN DOWNTOWN SAN FRANCISCO IS BANDIT COUNTRY VERY UNWHOLESOME EXPECT TO BE HASSLED AT EVERY CORNER FOR MONEY WHY ARE YOU STAYING DOWN THERE? THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE EXCEPT PORNO CINEMAS AND THRIFT SHOPS GET YOURSELF TO FISHERMANS WHARF TRY THE SHERATON OR HOLIDAY INN THEY ARE NOT EXPENSIVE AND YOU WILL FEEL LIKE YOUVE BEEN ON HOLIDAY AND NOT ON AN ASSAULT COURSE

Ted, you would be taken seriously if you unlocked the CAPS key every now and then...

Downtown SF is not that bad. I don't know about the Ramada.

The Ramada Limited is at 240 7th st. I wonder if it is the old San Franciscan? Please inform me of this particular hotel and continue giving suggesting for a first time visitor. Thanks!

Kevin: We stayed at this particular Ramada Hotel and were not very happy with the hotel or the location. We moved to the Holiday Inn at Union Station and were much happier. Sometimes it pays to spend money. I would not stay there again, as much I love san francisco.
