Only 3 months in the year left. Where are you traveling this year?

My trips are mostly family things and one business thing with the other half. If you mean what travel plans strictly for vacation, mine would drop from NYC, Palm Beach, Asheville NC and Atlanta to Palm Beach. Next pleasure trip isn't until June.
When Lilley asked for travel plans, I thought it meant any travel.

Halloween in Savannah. Checking into several Ghost Tours. Has anyone taken one of these? Which is best/most comprehensive? Bus or carriage? Any advice would be appreciated. Plan on lunching at Mrs. Wilkes.
November 1ST at Alltel (Gator) Stadium in Jacksonville at the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.
November 2ND stop by Okeefenokee Swamp on way back towards Atlanta.

After returning from France, trying to adjust here and pay the bills. My future travels in the three months, will be to cross the bridge here in Cambridge to Boston to visit my old Newbury Street apartment and neighborhood.
A beautiful fall day here.

Now, back to TRAVEL!!
Has anyone been to Mt Dessert Island in Maine in the late fall?
I am sure it will be cold but is it miserable or just that brisk December feeling? We were considering a short visit with some friends, but if it is brutal cold with nowhere to go, maybe we should save it for summer..Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thank you, Scarlett

Scarlett, you are just the funniest old thing!!! The COLDEST water I ever SWAM in was at Mt. Desert Island in AUGUST!!!
You will freeze your tush in Maine in the winter. But it will give you a reason to snuggle up with a sweetie! And it is ruggedly beautiful any time of the year, and the shops and restaurants are always fun to go to.
Dress warmly (Very) and enjoy America's vacationland.

Sorry for the misspelling, Mt Desert. My friend pronounces it Dessert, another reason that I thought I would like it there!
dln darlin, I thank you for the insights, I figured the water would be off-limits, just hoped that this Southern girl would not freeze in her tracks walking around town admiring the beauty of the area. I do have a sweetie to keep me warm, that Yankee, you know Thank you very much for the response!

PS: Scarlet is on to something..Spring plans are up in the air with the exception of a trip to Pittsburgh,PA for a bar mitzvah in early June. Depending of what becomes of the governor in California..or who becomes the governor better said..I might begin my life as an expat sooner rather than later.

Taking off Veterans Day week and staying home and just enjoying the feeling of not commuting to work. I have about an acre of land so I have my space. On weekends I'd like to go on daytrips around my area (SW PA) such as Oglebay to see the light, Fiestaware factory in Newell, WV and Blenko Glass tour in Milton, WV.

Driving to New York (Pelham, actually) with my sweetie for a visit with my very pregnant daughter next week. Home again, to await the phone call which will put me on the plane back there to welcome my newest grandson. Looking forward to both journeys - the easy, pleasant driving trip and the hasty excitement a month or so later.
