We are planning to fly in to Anchorage one day before planned cruise and would like to rent a car for use in Anchorage and then to drive down to Seward and leave the car there. Does anyone know if there is a one-way drop off from the Anchorage Airport to somewhere in Seward? If not, what are the scheduled buses from Anchorage to Seward like?

Have you considered dropping the car off in Anchorage, and taking the train? the train trip between Anchorage and Seward is supposed to be gorgeous.

I've read that there is a Hertz rental in Seward. That's your best bet for a oneway rental.

Check with Hertz, they have an office on Port Avenue in Seward.

We drove Anchorage to Seward and back--it was the most spectacular drive. A huge benefit to having a car is the opportunity to stop and take advantage of all the scenic rest stops along the way, some with informational sign posts, look-out decks, etc.
