What are your interest jogee? Do you mean that you will have Sunday morning free and then will join the tour for the afternoon or do you mean you will have one complete day free (say Saturday or Monday). More details about what you and whoever you will be with might be interested in would help others make some suggestions. And if you tell us what your tour will be of than others won't suggest the same area. Best regards.

Go to Fisherman's Wharf, rent a go car, and drive that around the city.

Then, walk around the Wharf and have dinner at Julius Castle Restaurant. It locates right behind Coit Tower.

Tell me more about BUSH MAN.
We've seen Alkatraz and Fisherman's Wharf and Coit Tower and driven around town and down Lombard Street several times. Drove across the bridge to a pretty town (begins with an S - the name escapes me). Giardelli Square.
We're into history - and maybe a special event.
We have Sunday afternoon and Monday night to ourselves. Our tour is taking us for a ride around the bay, a drive around town and then a loop to Sonoma. I'm not used to being bound by a "bus tour schedule" so I feel some pressure to make the most of our free time - silly I know, but that's me.
I appreciate everyone's suggestions.
So who's BUSH MAN?

Bush Man is a classic--believe it or not--he is near the fishing boats at the Wharf and crouches behind a couple of branches and jumps out at the tourists (or anyone not paying attention) and scare the beejeezus out of them! Folks stand off to the side to watch the show--and they are never disappointed! So--what to do? There are some great plays in town--you might be able to catch a matinee of "Jersey Boys" or ?? Check sfgate.com for events--there's usually a festival going on. On a Sunday--get to the Ferry Bldg at Market and Embaradero. Get out and walk!

I'm a local - and I got it from the Bush man. The weird thing was (before it happened) that everyone in this big crowd was staring at me - it was so surreal. I was thinking - what is going on?!
Then the Bush man jumped out and scared the daylights out of me and it all became clear.
I remember reading that the city almost put a stop to him for fear he'd give someone a heart attack. So I guess he chooses his victims wisely.
