Omni Royal Orleans

Can anyone give me some feed back on this
hotel. I'm looking for nice but not too
expensive. I was hoping for under $200.00 a night. Also - what will the weather
be like in late March ??

Thank you

March 2002? I don't know if the Omni will be priced under $200 except for their small (tiny) rooms. March is a very busy month in the city!

The hotel itself is very nice. It's a four-star property and the location can't be beat! (The one downside: guest rooms do tend to be quite small overall but the smallest are too crowded to be comfortable. )

Weather in late March is nice.

The Omni Royal Orleans is a very nice hotel, but under $200 will probably be their very small rooms.

Just returned from 5 days in N.O. and stayed at the Omni Royal Orleans. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is very nice with good service and the location in the French Quarter is excellent ... very centrally located on one of the nicest streeets (Royal Street). It is an older hotel ... I think it was built originally in the late 1800s and was called the St. Louis Hotel, therefore even though a relatively large hotel, the building is attractive and the rooms are nicely decorated, although on the small side. The room rates were around $269 for a King Deluxe room (with a balcony), $199 for a king room (with window overlooking street) and less for a queen room (don't know exact price) ... so you may be able to get a queen room for under $200/night. Although as the previous poster stated, the rates will probably be higher in March than May, and would probably go up for next year. (Don't forget about room taxes at 12%.. not sure if your $200 limit takes that into consideration.) The King Deluxe room was of average size (with a small bathroom), and this was one of their larger rooms, so I would expect that the queen rooms would be very small. The hotel has a nice rooftop swimming pool and bar area that overlooks FQ and river. I think that the weather in March would be very nice ... 70s, maybe low 80s with comfortable humidity. (The humidity can make it really unbearable as you get closer to the summer months.) It was mainly in the mid 80s last week, but the humidity was not too bad as they are in a bit of a drought now. I was quite pleased with our accomodations and will definitely stay there again.
