Old Victorian Homes Near Austin, TX?

I'll be visiting Austin soon and I was planning on checking out some of the residential neighborhoods in the outskirts. I'm looking for older areas with lots of mature trees and victorian homes. I've heard there might be some near Georgetown. Does anyone know if such an area exists? Thank you!

There aren't any victorian homes in or around Austin, from what I've seen.

The primary architectural style in Austin and the Hill Country is limestone with metal roofs and a big porch. This is often called "Texas style" by the locals. Remember that architecture uses locally available materials, and around Austin, stone was the most prevalent so that is what they used.

If you want to see victorian homes, you'll need to drive a bit. I recommend coming almost up to Dallas and stopping at Waxahachie off I-35E. There are LOTS of gorgeous victorians there, and if you were here on the 1st weekend of June, you could have done the Gingerbread Trail home tour. Still, that is the best place in Texas to see victorian homes.

Kay, if you don't mind a side-trip to San Antonio (about an hour and a half drive, and well worth it) I'd suggest the King William District there.
