Ohau Airfare?
What is the least expensive (cheap)air fare that you have come across? I am desperately looking for airfare for departure on 7-23-03 (7 days) returning on 7-23-03. LAX to Honlulu. Any hints? Any help? Any Luck?
1 adult / 2 children: 5 & 15. So far, what I have come across appears to be $480 to $550. I have free room & board.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

I've paid between $300-$370 for LAX-HNL but I've always flown in the months of March, April, May, or June. Aside from waiting for the next fare sale, I'm not sure what other options you have. You could try priceline.

To Island Mom...yes. I did come across an airline called Mainline Airways. They haven't started service...but they want around $400 per ticket. I don't know the airline. But United is at $504 and Hawaiian at 486...does not include tax. Do you think I have time? Should I keep checking?

Wow, I was able to book a July HNL to LAX flight for $395 just a week ago through Hawaiian Air's web site. Checked again just now and it's well over $500. I suggest you just make it a daily routine to check out airline websites and scan for price changes. It's important to go to the airline sites and not just rely on expedia or such (though check there too). I know that airlines have added capacity to HNL this summer so maybe it will come down?

SteveCat & Curmudgeon...thanks for the info. I also did try ATA and Pleasant...not any better. What's happening out there? Pleasant has the $339 rates, but you have to go now. In July it jumps to almost $500 per. Oh well, just like Steve said...I'll just keep checking. Would you recommend Priceline?

The problem is since 9/11 there aren't as many flights. I used to find cheaper near summer. Now it seems I can't even find a seat if I wait too long.
It might be a pain, but you might find something cheap by flying out of Vegas.

I never used priceline for airline flights so I can't really say if it's good or not. I can't see how it could be that bad for a one-leg flight, but who knows. You should try the forums at biddingfortravel.com to get some real info about that possibility.
As for Mainline Airways, the truth is nobody really knows what's up with them. The State airport director has publically stated that nobody has contacted them about securing airport facilities and they have no federal license to operate as of now.
