Oh baby it's cold outside! HELP!

OK, I am sitting in freezing cold Milwaukee WI trying to stay warm. Can anyone give me a good description of a wonderfully tropical place to picture in my mind and try forget this coooooold weather? What's your idea of the perfect tropical paradise?

If I wasn't so cold right now, I could answer your question. I am in the middle of Alabama and the high is 20 today, low 6, and with wind chill of -2. Deep South? Deep Freeze would be a better description.

Hi Sara, another Milwaukean here. I just made plans to leave in two weeks for Colorado. I know thats not exactly a warmer locale and I don't even ski. Oh well, got cheap air fares,my son lives out there and they actually have snow. After that I'm going to try to get back to Puerto Vallarta later this spring. Hang in there, Summerfest is just around the corner!!

Having a heat wave here in Omaha--it is 1 degree outside.

Like the beach boys say: "Aruba, Jamaica, oooh I wanna take ya, Bermuda, Bahamas...."

I used to live in North Dakota so I remember that kind of cold.

I don't miss it.

Speaking of cold... all week it has been HIGHS of -20 to -15 CELSIUS which is about -4 to +5 FAHRENHEIT.

The windchill has it around -23 FAHRENHEIT every day this week.

& that's the HIGHS! What fun. Cold crisp air, snow crunching underfoot.

Well - it is a relatively chilly 60-70's at night here in Honolulu, low 80's for the highs during the day. It got done to 58 (!) one night last week. Right now the sky is quite blue, the sun is out, its breezy.... Pretty much perfect. I feel your pain - I lived in MI for 25 years. I moved to FL after the coldest winter in many many years (one day it was -60 with wind chill -- BRRRR!). HI is even nicer than FL.

Anyhow - strongly recommend searching for a cheap ticket and coming to HI for a visit!

I remember the low getting down to 50 or so when I lived in Hawaii and we all had our electric ovens on with the doors open since no one had any heat.

Now I live in Orlando, and luckily we have heat, because the low tonight will be 28! What a cold winter this has been!

Is there anyone besides me who actually likes cold weather? I know it can be rough, but I prefer really cold weather to sweltering heat where you can't even breathe outside. I just try to appreciate all four seasons. I live in the south (Birmingham, AL), so I have my share of hot weather.

Tampa here: low tonight is suppose to be in the 20s with windchills in the teens - high tomorrow is suppose to be 48. I realize that is "nice" or "warm" for most of the country now but if you are coming to Florida this weekend - bring a jacket!

I am in philly and I cannot remember a winter like this. It is so cold the pipes have frozen and water will not drain. This is not good. Good news, we are leaving Sat. for the Southern Caribbean. I can't wait.

If it will help, it has been a blissful week here in L.A., with temps hovering between 72 and 80 f., blue skies (surprise, no smog!). We added some dishwashing liquid to the spa, and just melted away in bubbles!

Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, think of the military now serving in Korea at the DMZ in this kind of weather. I was in Korea in Jan of '53 when it was cold like this and the fox holes were never warm.
