Hi,
I've not personally stayed at either, but have friends who have. Those who stayed at the Sparhawk did so on someone else's personal recommendation. They loved it! Great location, family friendly, clean and convenient. The friends who stayed at the Anchorage were less than impressed, BUT they are fairly fussy and hard to please! Be sure to walk the Marginal Way. I recommend a lobster dinner at the Oarweed in Perkins Cove!

I believe the Anchorage has in indoor pool. I'm not sure about the Sparhawk -- if this helps with your decision. If I'm thinking of the right place, they're in the same area -- right along Marginal Way. You may want to be sure that your room is booked on the ocean side of the street. The Anchorage (I don't know about the Sparhawk) has another building(s) across the road.

I have stayed at The Anchorage once a number of years ago and never stayed at Sparhawk although I have heard it is very nice. I do remember the indoor pool at the Anchorage being very very small and unattractive. I think it is right off their lobby. They had 2 outdoor hot tubs, one that fits about 20 people and the other small - both open all year. Have you looked on their websites?
