Need NYC Hotel for Girls Weekend

We are three sisters and our mom traveling to NY to celebrate mom's 80th. We have all been to New York many times but we are having trouble picking a hotel for our stay. We plan to go to Ellis Island one day but other then that we are looking for a place in a great neighborhood where we can relax and eat and shop close by. Not really interested in being close to to Times Square. Our budget is around $400 a night. I was thinking the Omni Berkshire but was wondering if anyone had any other thoughts. Thank you!

When is your trip? $400 will get you deluxe rooms in January, but average or small rooms in lesser hotels around Thanksgiving.

What about the Helmsley Palace or the Helmsley Park Lane?
I would also look for a two bedroom suite. That would make it more fun for you all to be able to share a common space to socialize.

We are traveling at the end of September. The Park Lane and the Hotel Elysee are over our budget. Thanks for the suggestions.

the park lane sometimes has email deals, i would suggest signing up for the email lists for the hotels you are interested in.

What about the Warwick? or the Kimberley.
