NYC with 50 Kids
I'm helping coordinate a choir concert in NYC in February of 2005. We will have about 50 kids and 7 or so adults. We're thinking of trying to take them to Wicked but I'm looking for other ideas as well. Wicked's web site did not go past November of 2004 - any ideas of what that means or am I just trying too far out?
Also, anyone know the new name of the old Gorham hotel? I've stayed there in the past and loved the location.

I think it's too early for February - but you should contact the show directly to find out about group sales. Also - the Gorham is now The Blakely - do a search here, I thjnk a few people have stayed there and posted reviews.
You're a strong woman - good luck with the trip.

I think the Gorham has been turned into condos and is no longer a hotel.
Call the group sales department at the individual hotel. With 50 kids, I would recommend The Marriott Marquis, The Doubletree Times Square, The Sheraton New York, The Hilton.
All are Midtown West or in Times Square which is where the kids would want to be.

i'm sure it's been done before without incident, but the marquis is not really a place for exceptionally rowdy kids given its open design in the core of the building. unless they've done something about it in light of recent events.
