I think the ammenities in the Renaissance are nicer -- scented soaps, shampoo and conditioner. By no means is the Renaissance not as nice, at least, not in my opinion!

The Renaissance is my favorite NY hotel. It is a lot less "touristy" feeling than the Marquis (in my opinion). The rooms are very cozy and comfortable and the bathrooms are huge (by NY standards) with wonderful soaking tubs. I love sitting in their bar on the second floor looking out over the hustle bustle of Broadway. There are tons of really good restaurants nearby and all the major subway lines run within a few blocks, so the location is one of the best for getting anywhere in the city. I think you will be very happy at the Renaissance.
