NYC: Syms stores?

Question for New York bargain shoppers! I'm going to Syms ("an educated consumer is our best customer") tomorrow or Sunday and want to know which Manhattan location has the biggest selection of ladies' clothing: Park Ave or Trinity Place? TP is so far downtown that it would be more convenient to go to the Park Ave store, but for a big shopping day, I'm looking for the best selections. Thanks for any assistance!

I think the Park Ave location will probably be your best bet. Also have you tried Daffy's, I think it's a better store(s) than Syms. You might try the 57th St location between Park and Lex and the Herald Square store as well. Daffy's has a good selection and really great prices.

You might also try Lohman's on 17th and 7th Ave and then go down to Filene's and DSW at 14th and Union Square.

Have a fun shopping day.

I hear the downtown store is better for men. Whether that means uptown is better for women, I don't know. I was there recently and was unimpressed with what I saw. I like Loehmann's better (on 17th & 7th) and in addition to the places travelbuff mentions on Union Square, there's also now Nordstrom Rack (which I haven't tried yet).

That's RIGHT, I forgot about Nordstrom's, and I walked by it just the other day.

Also there's a Loehmann's on Broadway and 75, and a Filene's at 79th.

I have to agree about Syms, it has just never had a hit with me either.

Syms and Filene's Basement have joined forces in some locations. The store at 79th and Broadway is co-branded.

What kind of clothes are you looking for, and where are you from? I haven' found anything at Syms in years, and Daffy's can be very young, trendy, hit & miss. I notice than no one mentioned Century 21. It can be a zoo, but it's also a NYC area store while the others are regional or national chains.
All the store at 14th street will also be packed on a weekend,

Syms a major letdown, esp Park av. All "made for discount" junk.
Loehmann's at 18th & 7th consistently good
Daffy's not like it used to be...I wouldn't bother

I agree Daffy's no longer good. I do better at Loehmann's downtown than the one on the UWS.
