NYC Restaurant suggestion

Meeting up with friends we haven't seen for a number of years. They will be at the Javits Center and we are coming in via Penn Station, so looking for suggestions for a small, intimate Italian restaurant located near to JC and PS for an early mid-week dinner. Thanks in advance!

Those areas are basically culinary wastelands. Here are two places, but clearly not what you asked for-Keen's, an old-fashioned steak/mutton house, and the very opposite of that Hangawi, upscale Korean.

Previous poster is correct. Only one I can think of is Trattoria Bianca
at the corner of 35th & 8th

Again, not Italian, but there are a slew of Korean eateries just east of Penn Station, on 32nd St. between Broadway and Madison Ave. I liked New Won Jo the time I went there a few years ago, and it’s conveniently open 24 hours.

You have to walk a bit, but take a look at Barbuto, about a mile south of Javits:

Barbuto NYC

Salumeria Biellese has a restaurant in that area (29th ST) named Biricchino....(??)
