Ooops, sorry, I missed the NYC in the title!
I was told by an employee in the convention service department that the contruction/remodeling on the lobby level (eighth floor) will take a few more months.

Hi - spent three nights there last week - didn't see any construction in the lobby or elsewhere.

Elizabeth, all of the restaurants and bars will open on the 8th floor (the lobby floor)? A couple weeks ago, there was obviously work being done on that floor.

Yup - everything was open (I know because I ate/drank at most!). At little bit of maintenance going on but nothing "construction like".

Thanks, Elizabeth. Hm, I wonder what my contact meant! Maybe they're doing renovations on other function floors.

Gee, I just walked through the 8th floor lobby about 15 minutes ago and took the glass elevators up and down from the street level. The only construction I saw anywhere was a bit of repair work to one of the revolving doors.

They've been working on renovating ONE of the bars on the 8th floor-- not a big deal-- will have absolutely no effect on your stay.
