And now others/or Patrick using other names whines for him.The point was can you not ignore this stuff instead of defending every attack? It just makes it all continue, like this, Elaineb-why does every criticism have to be answered? Not using ones real name is only for safety at this board.

Well, Todd, I guess he defends himself for the same reason you are right now? Why are you bothering to defend your position but attacking Patrick for defending his? I suppose the only reason for defending a criticism is when the criticism was wrong to begin with. Accepting it would seem to suggest that the criticism was correct, when often (as in this case) it was not correct.

I agree that these attacks become just silly. What is wrong with someone who doesn't live in New York offering suggestions about where to eat there? If we were only allowed to post about our home towns instead of the places we know as tourists, there wouldn't be much information on this board. I remember another recent post in which Patrick offered a number of Upper West Side dining suggestions and apparently it was this same person who said that since he didn't live there he couldn't possibly know what he was talking about. How silly can you get? Most of the best suggestions come from other tourists, not residents. And didn't Patrick used to live in New York, anyway?

I am not defending myself, there is nothing to defend.Only trying to make my point clearer to some who go on and on with the same complaint.
It does become silly, regardless of the subject,to defend every remark made against oneself.I don't care where someone lives or does not live..just try to let these things go past without jumping to your/their defense...maybe the "nasties" will stop if they don't get a rise out of people.JMHO

Thank you todd for not defending this post and not letting it continue as you suggested.

Todd, you are too funny. You have said the same thing three times now and you are complaining about other repeating themselves?

If you think I'm going to reply any more to this thread, you're crazy! Except to say this, "no, xx, I never lived in New York, I've just spent a lot of time there." Now I hope that comment doesn't mean I'm whining and overly defending myself again.
