NYC Help
We're wanting to attend a Broadway play at the Marquis Theatre. We would fly in so 1.Which airport should we use? 2. The theatre is located at 1535 Broadway so which hotel would be convenient? and 3. What mode of transportation would be best to get around in, ie taxi...limo...??? Any other suggestions would be greatfully accepted.

1. either laguardia or newark. 2. lodging depends on your budget; there are tons of hotels in manhattan; and 3. take the subway or taxi. you'll love it. just don't look like a tourist and stay out of the last car of the trains.
visit wall street, little italy, chinatown, st. patrick's cathedral; rockerfeller center, windows of the world on top of the twin towers, and the rainbow room.
go mcsorleys ale house for a lot of history and fun, on 7th street between 2nd and 3rd. ask about the wish bones hanging from the ceiling of the.
have fun.
you can also do lots of walking and enjoy the cites.

Either LGA or EWR. If you use taxi to get to Manhattan LGA would be about half the cost. LGA is about 10 miles from Manhattan; EWR about 20 miles. The theater is located in the same building housing the Marriott Marquis Hotel. Best and least expensive way to get around is the subway if you are going to be going out of the midtown area. You can walk to almost all places of interest in the mid town area. Taxis are almost always available providing it isn't raining or snowing. A limo won't get you where you are going any faster than a taxi. The one advantage, and you pay for it, is to arrange for the limo to always be on call.

In midtown Manhattan the hotels are too numerous too list. Check any travel guide and take your pick. Most are nice, none are cheap.
Getting around: 1. Walk! 2. Taxi or subway, depending on distance and time of day. For late hours travel, take a taxi. Otherwise, the subway is just $1.50 a trip, and usually faster.
Airports: Newark or Laguardia. Avoid JFK - too far.

When are you going? As stated above the MOST convenient hotel since the theatre is in it is the Marriott Marquis. Call 1-800-843-4898 (the hotel's own number, not the national line) and ask for codes LLOA for $189 or LLOQ for $139 room rates for a variety of dates. These are quotes from Playbill, but you don't have to be a member to get the rates, just use the codes.
